LittleNeeds grew out of an academic discussion to support young graduates in vocational and technical to become entrepreneurs, particularly from the Polytechnics and National Vocational Training Board programmes. This concept soon developed into a viable platform for all skilled entrepreneurs, which in our term is recognised as Service Professionals.

Unlike other app-based platforms, LittleNeeds uses a unique business model; a subscription-based membership. This is to say that we have a strictly no commission policy! This business model falls back on the ethos of the conception of LittleNeeds; to encourage hard work! A Service Professional will not and cannot be punished for working hard. Whatever he/she earns belongs solely to him/her. All it takes, is a minimal monthly subscription to access the database for customers and be promoted. At the same time, the platform provides the necessary background secretarial support of invoice provision, receipt production and management.

For customers, LittleNeeds provides all necessary safeguards in the selection of the Service Professional. Sensitive information such as addresses (postal and email) and contact details (landline and mobile) will only be released to the Service Professional at the customer’s preference. Another security measure taken is to ensure that all professionals are suitable qualified to carry out the service they are promoting. This is done either via the availability of a qualification from a recognised institutions or agency, professional membership or reference of three (3) existing/past customers. Further, all Service Professionals will be required to build a Portfolio which can be viewed by the customers to facilitate decision making.

Finally, LittleNeeds hopes to contribute towards nation building not just by empowering young entrepreneurs in the skills and vocational sector, but it hope that through this platform, Service Professionals may be able to brand themselves in the region. Utilising the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) for further fuel the recognition and expansion of Malaysian skill sector by supporting free movement of Service Professionals and entrepreneurs.
